Exotic wenge parquet flooring
Where shall we start with this exotic parquet species? Wenge parquet is the hardest of all the exotic hardwood timbers and the darkest natural timber species available. A near black colour with a tight amber grain that provides a rich fleck of colour throughout. The choice of surface finish can heighten or lower the tonal qualities to produce subtle but stunning effects. The picture below is from the bar at the Turnberry Hotel. Very classy!
Turnberry Golf and impressing Tiger Woods
Maybe we could tell you the story about how this floor was selected for the Turnberry Resort Hotel for the British Open and how we worked round the clock to get this project complete in time for Tiger and his friends showing up. Our blog on post relating that very story has sent us lots of enquiries from as far away as Spain and Italy. A Spanish hotelier keen to have the same flooring as Turnberry. Well we can’t confirm for sure if Tiger was wowed by our wenge parquet flooring but lots of others have since and have been in touch to let us know. The picture below is from the entrance foyer at Turnberry and shows our wenge parquet in a herringbone apttern.
