Two of our senior parquet flooring specialist operatives have just returned from the installation of 110m2 of European oak parquet flooring in a beautiful period property in Brighton. Requiring substantial sub-floor preparation a self levelling screed was used then a liquid Damp Proof Membrane to seal in any moisture was applied before the setting out and installation of the oak parquet blocks began. This classic parquet flooring was laid in a herringbone pattern with a two block border with a merbau feature strip insert. The job involved some tricky cutting around a curved fireplace hearth, the results of which can be seen below. We’re delighted to say that this is the third large domestic parquet flooring installation job we have undertaken on the South Coast and Brighton area in the last year.
